Peak time for leaf-peeping in North Georgia is still a few weeks away, but with the first official day of Autumn on September 22 (and that hint of chill in the air we’ve enjoyed this past week), Fall Festivals are in full swing, providing a plethora of opportunities to enjoy time outdoors (and maybe a funnel cake!)
While apple festivals, winery tours, and a full Bavarian Oktoberfest take place in Ellijay, Dahlonega, and Helen, Windsong homeowners can get their fill of fun without taking a full-on road trip.
We’ve compiled a sample of fabulous fall festivals close to home:
Bartow County:
Rose Lawn Arts Festival – September 17 & 18 at Rose Lawn Museum in Cartersville. Saturday 10-6, Sunday 12-5.
Celebrating its 47th year, this festival features work by artists from across the Southeast, including paintings, sculpture, and hand-crafted items.
Cartersville Arts in the Park at Hamilton Crossing Park, September 24, 10-6.
Enjoy arts, crafts, festival food, and live music!
Great Locomotive Chase Festival – September 30 – October 2 in Downtown Adairsville.
Since 1968, this festival brings folks together with food and drink, arts and crafts, amusements, a parade, pageant, and live entertainment.
Cherokee County:
Riverfest Arts & Crafts Festival – September 24 & 25 at Etowah River Park in Canton.
This is the 38th Annual Riverfest, organized by the Service League of Cherokee County, is one the largest of the League’s events, with more than 150 vendors offering food, arts & crafts, and more. Live entertainment throughout the festival, a children’s activity area, and a tailgate area so you can keep tabs on your favorite football team throughout your stay. Proceeds benefit Cherokee County children in need. Saturday 10-6, Sunday 10-5.
Cobb County:
Root House Beer Festival – Friday, September 30, 6-9 pm at the William Root House, Marietta.
Celebrating its 7th year, this festival brings together beer enthusiasts, introducing them to beers from local breweries. This year’s featured breweries are Glover Park Brewery, and Red Hare Brewing and Distilling.
These and many other festivals throughout North Georgia offer a variety of culinary, craft, and entertainment opportunities, highlighting the unique heritage and traditions of the communities that host them.
Windsong communities each feature their unique look and feel, as well, with luxury ranch homes that meet the needs and desires of their Active Adult homeowners, who find fun and forge friendships with neighbors who share their similar life-stage experiences.
Welcome to Windsong, Where Life’s A Breeze!
