Just in time for graduations, weddings, and summer holidays, and with vaccines available, the CDC announced that it appears safe to relax restrictions for visiting people outside one’s immediate home, for the first time in 14 months. That sound you probably heard is the collective exhale of relief… along with a quickening heartbeat: we can see (and hug!) our children and grandchildren; we can visit friends again!
Of course, just as you would not run a marathon right after having a cast removed, guidelines are in place to ensure we continue to watch the pandemic fade into history.
