A long, long time ago
I can still remember when doing yard work made me smile
But I knew if I had the chance
I could use that time to dance
Or maybe nap in the courtyard for a while
This February made us shiver
No rhyme or reason to the weather
Sunshine on the doorstep
The next day on ice we’d slip
I can’t remember if I cried
When it was too cold to go outside
But something touched me deep inside
When we opened our home’s door wide….
Since then we’re singing
Why, why did we wait long to find
Active Adult, better living
In the house and outside
Our neighbors greeted us
With smiles and wine
Saying check out this amazing design
Love our homes, the lifestyle’s divine.
Windsong wrote the book on how
The Boomer Life is so much better now
It’s not too late to start again!
Do you want neighbors you get to know?
Not worrying about having to mow?
Having sidewalks where you can walk fast or slow?
We were lonely living in a big old house
That’s now too big for just me and my spouse
And the maintenance overwhelmed and left us tired.
So when we drove into this place
And were greeted by more than one happy face
We knew we’d found the home we’d feel inspired!
We started singing
Why, why did we wait long to find
Active Adult, better living
In the house and outside
Our neighbors greeted us
With smiles and wine
Saying check out this amazing design
Love our homes, the lifestyle’s divine.
I met a neighbor who’d sung the blues
But they shared with me some happy news
Of watching sports in the clubhouse with some friends
And the things to which I aspire most:
Exercise, gardening, and playing host
Are easy when the fun times never end.
In the streets the neighbors waved
In courtyards, gatherings are all the rage
Spring’s around the corner
The days are getting warmer.
I still remember the feelings of glee
When I moved into the home built for me
Enjoying my life of joy and ease
Welcome to Windsong, Where Life’s A Breeze!
