From the perspective of Randy and Donna Sickbert at Windsong Manor Like a great many of our neighbors here at Windsong Manor, we moved to be closer to our son and his family in Acworth. We love that we are now close enough now to spend a lot of time with our grandsons, Andrew who is two and a half, and Ethan who is five. We really wanted to live in a neighborhood with people our age with similar interests and it’s nice that several of us help out with our grandchildren on a regular basis. Our son is the only family we have in Georgia, so when our Indiana family visits it’s nice to have a private space downstairs for them. They love having their own living area with kitchenette and patio — it’s like a house on top of a house. My brother came for a couple nights and stayed for a week and we all had our own private space. This living situation would be convenient if we ever needed live-in help. At our last house in Loganville, it was a good 10 miles to get to anywhere and now we have a Publix, Kroger, Dentist, Starbucks and medical center all so close by. We get around well now, but realize that having things so close is going to benefit us in the future. This location is perfect for us. Our son is off Wade Green Road and that is only about 15 minutes away. At our previous house we would leave at 4 in the morning if they needed help with the kids to beat traffic and it still took almost 2 hours to get to them. Even with two levels, we are saving money on our utility bills and enjoy that perk! The quality of our home's construction is outstanding! We moved from a three story home that we thought would be our last house, but seven bedrooms and all that yard maintenance was too much work and wasted space. Randy enjoyed doing the yard work, but had sprained his knee a while ago and it became an issue. Now I catch him sometimes watching the landscapers through the window and smiling. We love everything about this house and this community; it’s really pretty and well maintained and I love that we have woods behind us. You really feel like everyone is looking out for each other here — everyone shares when they find good deals, great restaurants, or travel tips. For example when we went to Germany for Octoberfest a neighbor who grew up in the Munich area gave us an insider's guide of places to visit; that made our trip amazing! Everyone here comes from such different areas and backgrounds, but we have found we have many shared interests and values. It’s easy to find common ground quickly and we enjoy hearing about each other's experiences. It is a comfort to realize we can count on each other for help, information, or company. Our community spends a lot of time socializing; we are anxiously awaiting the completion of our new clubhouse. In the meantime we meet at each other's houses, local restaurants, on walks, or at the pickle ball court. We are so happy to be here; we actually live Where Life’s A Breeze. Thank you Windsong!
