In The Summertime – A Boomer Poem
Inspired by Mungo Jerry, 1970
In the summertime, when the weather is hot
You can relax and stretch on the chaise outside
When the weather’s fine
You’ve got resting and relaxing on your mind.
Read a book, host a party
You don’t have to leave your home for a good time.
You can stay at home, if that’s what you feel
Or you can join some friends to go out for a meal
It’s a good time,
It’s the time that you have dreamed of all your life.
In your dream home
Neighbors are friends, and you also have family living nearby.
Come along with us
And enjoy what you see
Locations and floorplans
Leave you ha-happy.
It’s a good time
In a home where everything is well-designed.
In your dream home
Created with your happiness in mind.
In the summertime, when the weather is hot
Come and tour our homes and see what we’ve got
If you’re looking
We are sure that when you see us you’ll decide
That Windsong
Is the community where you’ll want to reside.
In the courtyard, you’ll find privacy
Plant a garden, or simply sip iced tea
And your kitchen
Is just steps away with all the luxuries
Yes, your dream home
Built with comfort and desired amenities.
In the morning, before the heat kicks in
You can join a friend to walk the sidewalks in
The community
Where everyone shares a similar stage of life
So your neighbors
Are the friends who live nearby.
All good people
Who live up and down the street
Love living here
Where they can do as they please
And their greeting is
Welcome to Windsong – Where Life’s A Breeze!
