From the perspective of homeowners, Mike and Melinda Anderson We thought that we had our dream home in 2004 when we built a 4,500 SF ranch home with basement on three acres in a gated mountain retirement community in Jasper. When we moved to Jasper, we had no grandchildren. Now we have four grandchildren and they all live in Paulding County. Life changes when those little ones come along and we wanted to be closer to them, as well as live closer to my 90 year old mother-in-law. Our preference was a 50+ community with covenants to protect the aesthetics and a single level ranch home with nice landscaping. We learned about Windsong from our daughter’s in-laws, Bill and Dena Whatley; they live at The Villas at Blackberry Run, also here in Dallas at Seven Hills. We liked their home and also toured the courtyard homes at the other active adult community in Seven Hills. When we toured the Bentley model at Windsong Manor and saw the site plan, we knew we had found the best fit for us. We were impressed with the quality and all the standard features; we were really sold on the model home. We like the open plan with a large dining room, as we enjoy entertaining. After learning of the other Windsong features like wider doors and hallways, step-less entry, a built-in seat in the owner’s shower, and no more yard maintenance, we were sold on this concept. Even though many of the homes in the neighborhood have the same floor plan, I really liked that the streetscapes are controlled by offering different elevations and stone or brick to make each home unique. From the first interaction with the sales agent to communication with the builder, we have been most impressed with the Windsong team who always made us feel that we were a partner in the process. The professional manner in which Windsong has treated us is appreciated greatly. They listened, addressed our concerns and they were highly responsive. After previously building three custom homes, this has been the easiest experience by far! I appreciate the communication systems they have in place to work with homebuyers through the process. There were scheduled meetings with the team, including stakeholders, where all plans and expectations were outlined and discussed. I felt that we were always included and not just informed of what was going to happen. We aren’t quite settled in yet, but we are already looking forward to hosting family and friends for the holidays. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t tell Melinda that I love our new home.
